本报记者陈帆纽约报道：游泳遇溺身亡的华裔学子戴淳德的追思会，昨（10日）于纽约大学附近的格林威治殡仪馆举行，近百名戴淳德生前的朋友、同学及教授纷纷到场怀念这位大家眼中公认的学习优异、待人友善、为人坚强乐观的人。
悼念会在纽约大学附近199号BELEEKER街的一家殡仪馆举行，戴淳德的父亲及戴淳德表兄弟，以及戴淳德生前在纽约大学的同学朋友及教授，中国 驻纽约总领馆王帮富领事等参加了戴淳德的悼念会。据知情人透露，戴淳德的母亲在得知儿子溺水身亡的消息后当及病倒，无法来美，而从中国来美办理儿子后事的 戴淳德的父亲更是夜夜无法入眠，精神极度忧伤。前来悼念戴淳德的戴淳德生前的同学们纷纷表示，戴淳德是一个大家公认的学习优异，待人友善，为人坚强乐观的 人。今年只有24岁的戴淳德的突然离去让他们不能接受。 (阅读全文 Read More)
美国迈阿密当地时间11月29日中午，现年24岁、家住上栗县桐木镇桐木街、在清华大学自动化系毕业后前往美国纽约大学Stern商学院攻读博士学位的戴淳德和3位外国同学在迈阿密海边游泳时遭遇激流不幸溺水身亡。噩耗传到戴淳德的家乡后，其家属、亲友和母校师生们都极为悲痛。北京时间12月3日下午，戴淳德的父亲戴圣省、母亲李爱萍和毕业于北京大学的堂弟戴翰程等家属离开上栗前往北京，然后在北京登机前去美国处理有关善后事宜。
We are very grieved to report to you that the NYU community has lost a member last Monday.Chunde Dai, who was a second year PhD student at Stern School of Business, died on November 29, 2010, at the age of 24, from a tragic accident while swimming off Miami Beach.
Chunde was born in 1986 in a small village of Jiang Xi province in China. He graduated from Tsinghua University in Beijing with honor in 2009, and had been a NYU student ever since. Chunde is a special person, intelligent, optimistic, energetic and warmhearted according to his colleages and friends. This is a tragic event for the NYU community and our hearts go out to Chunde’s family and friends. Chunde’s families are arriving in New York with the help of the school and his friends.
A memorial service has been planned near campus at Greenwich Village Funeral Home this Friday, starting at 10:00am followed by a reception at 1:30pm. We are a close community with deeply shared values. The efforts Chunde’s friends have made gave moving testimony to the caring and compassion of this place. As an international student, Chunde does not have most of his families and friends here in the US, therefore your condolences mean a lot for him and his families. Let us continue to offer comfort and consolation to Chunde’s family and friends.
